As we've mentioned before, more than 60% of post-menopausal women suffer from insomnia. Bioidentical progesterone cream might help, and now we've learnt that soy may also relieve your insomnia symptoms.
According to Reuters Health, new research published in the journal Menopause reveals that soy contains estrogen-like compounds called isoflavones that boost sleep efficiency and help relieve insomnia.
90% of women in the study reported suffering from moderate or intense insomnia at the beginning of the study. After four months of taking isoflavones, this fell to 37%.
Nobody really knows why soy appears to offer insomnia relief for post-menopausal women; hopefully that will be the basis of future studies. We'll be sure to keep you updated.
In the meantime, you may want to consider MellowPause - a 100% safe, non-addictive natural herbal formula that helps to maintain healthy sleep patterns.
