An aromatherapy massage may be insomnia’s greatest enemy

25 March 2010 in insomnia cures

We’ve written before (rather cynically) about a massage chair that claims to cure insomnia. Today we want to bring to your attention something a little more reasonable (and perhaps, encouraging).

In an article over at GJSentinel, we’re introduced to Penny Stine. She suffers from insomnia and has tried many cures – including visualizing whirled peas (that’s a new one on us). However, she never gives up – and tries an aromatherapy massage.

She was skeptical at first, and even tells us that she can’t stand regular massages. However, she gave it a try and consequently enjoyed a night of uninterrupted sleep – minus an intervention from her cat.

We wanted to share this article for a couple of reasons. It acts as a reminder – you don’t suffer from insomnia alone. Others know what you’re going through. It’s also inspiring – you should never stop looking for an insomnia treatment that will work for you.

We’d love to see a follow-up article from Penny in the future – if we come across it, we’ll be sure to share. In the meantime, maybe it’s time to give aromatherapy a try? Perhaps you’ve already tried it – if so, please share your experience by leaving a comment below.
