We just finished reading this fascinating article about brain music therapy. Basically, a doctor records the electrical activity taking place in your brain and a computer then translates the patterns into a music CD with two tracks – one to help you relax, and one to provide stimulation.
Apparently, research has shown that brain music therapy is scientifically sound – approximately 80% of people had a positive response to brain music therapy, which has been shown to significantly increase melatonin levels.
In a head to head study with Ambien, brain music therapy had the exact same level of effectiveness – but without the side effects.
