Destroy your insomnia through dance!

by Martin Reed on 15 March 2013 in insomnia cures

I thought I'd end the week on a more upbeat note.

Apparently, tango dancing can treat insomnia and help alleviate anxiety and stress.

According to researchers, just 2 weeks of tango dancing can significantly improve mood.

Study participants saw significant reductions in levels of depression, stress, anxiety and insomnia.

The positive effects extended to improvements in self belief and life satisfaction.

Furthermore, the benefits of tango were still around when researchers conducted a follow-up a month later.

If you want to replicate the tango cure, you'll want to dance four 90 minute sessions each week for 2 weeks.

If your dance skills are more restricted to watching Dancing with the Stars from the couch, some form of alternative exercise will likely yield similar effects.
