There is a clear link between insomnia and stress. Insomnia can be a symptom of stress and can lead to a vicious circle with the resulting lack of sleep making the stress even worse. One recent study found that daytime stress is a strong predictor of sleep quality. If stress is to blame for your insomnia what can you do about it?
Doctors typically suggest a healthy diet and exercise as the key to managing stress and reducing stress symptoms such as insomnia. Meditation and progressive muscle relaxation can help, as can natural remedies and supplements.
