Insomnia relief for menopausal women

19 August 2010 in insomnia cures

We’ve written before about the link between menopause and insomnia – and today we’ve come across some advice for menopausal women struggling with sleep.

Over at WomensDay, Christina Boufis tells us that bioidentical progesterone cream helps her feel sleepy. Unfortunately this cream doesn’t help her stay asleep – for that she turns to Qigong.

We know that many people find insomnia relief practicing yoga and other relaxation techniques, so we’re inclined to think that this is surely worth a try.

Menopause is tricky. There are many reasons to have insomnia. Stress, hot flashes, nutrient deficiencies… Unfortunately your doctor is probably programmed to just look for medical causes and remedies. It is important to take a look at everything going on in your life. There is no reason why a woman cannot go through menopause mildly. Before drugs… women did it for centuries!
