Insomnia therapy from Buddha

2 January 2010 in insomnia cures

We’re always on the lookout for new ideas and original advice for relieving insomnia. Today we came across this interesting article in Psychology Today from a professor at Naropa University, Colorado who applies the Noble Truths from Buddha’s early teachings in her capacity as a contemplative therapist.

Regardless of whether or not you’re religious or spiritual, we’d recommend the article. It offers some good, simple and easy to follow advice on meditation and how to make the most of ‘alone time’. If you don’t have any time to yourself, make some – it’s important.

Have you tried meditation or other relaxation techniques to help you sleep? How did they work? Please share.
