More foods to consider for natural insomnia relief

18 January 2010 in insomnia cures

Hot on the heels of our posts asking whether food can cure your insomnia and if there is a link between insomnia and blood sugar levels, we’ve found an article further discussing specific foods that may help relieve insomnia. The article will be of particular interest to vegetarians as it hails from the largely vegetarian nation of India.

Apart from the initial suggestion of salmon (apparently the healthy fats boost melatonin levels), the article also mentions kidney beans, plain yoghurt and spinach.

We have no doubt that some cases of insomnia could be helped by a change of diet. However, we need to remind ourselves that the causes of insomnia can often be far more complicated than diet alone.

Have you found eating certain foods relieves your insomnia? We’d love to hear your thoughts.
