Yoga poses for insomnia relief

by Martin Reed on 12 September 2011 in insomnia cures

We definitely think that yoga can help relieve insomnia symptoms in some people. From time to time we even share some yoga poses right here on the blog. Today we want to share some more.

If you’ve never given yoga a try, you really don’t have anything to lose by giving it a chance.

Forward bend - Uttanasana can help relieve tension in the legs, back and shoulders

Wide-Legged Forward Bend - Prasarita Padottansana calms the brain and stretches the spine

Child Pose - Balasana relieves fatigue and anxiety

Seated Forward Bend - Paschimottanasana is supposed to be particularly effective at relieving insomnia and anxiety

Plow - Halasana helps relieve stress and anxiety

Supine Spinal Twist - Supta Matsyaendrasana relaxes the back and spine and is said to relieve insomnia

Shoulder Stand – Sarvangasana reduces fatigue and promotes relaxation
