New insomnia cure helps you sleep like a baby

26 July 2010 in insomnia cures

Remember when you were a baby and fell fast asleep as soon as you were gently rocked in your mother’s arms? Well, you probably don’t remember – but according to Philips SleepWave, the idea that this rocking motion sends us to sleep is solid.

Their new insomnia device is attached behind each ear on the mastoid bone using a sensor cable which sends electric pulses into the middle ear, creating a gentle rocking sensation.

According to Philips’ own research, there was a 67% decrease in participants classified as having severe to moderate insomnia after using the SleepWave for 4 weeks.

Of course, we can’t tell you whether this product is any good – but if Philips want to send us one for review purposes (we always give review products to members of our insomnia help forums to review) we’ll be happy to share our thoughts.

Likewise, if you try this product out, please get in touch. This is one product that has aroused our curiosity!

This is a fascinating idea, and something I would be very interested in giving a go.

This definitely seems to be one of the more interesting insomnia devices to hit the marketplace, Saire – hopefully they’ll hit the shelves soon so we get to know how effective they are in ‘real life’.

Who is going to be first to try this??
OK don’t laugh but I sometimes rock my self to sleep when I’m stressed ,I get on my side and roll and rock,,have to admit it sometimes works ,,but not always,,not sure if I’m getting rid of excess energy but it does relax me..maybe there is something to this

If anything, that would keep me awake – don’t you have to concentrate to keep yourself rocking?!

A rocking chair or a swinging bench are two places I can barely stay awake. I’m pretty skeptical about this device though. Looking forward to seeing a review.

The ‘swinging’ concept grabbed our attention for the same reason, Kik. Let’s see how effective this really is when it’s out in the real world, though!
