CBS 2 recently wrote an article about sleep gadgets that apparently help you get a good night’s sleep. We thought we’d share.
First up is a watch with ‘built in sleep technology’. Basically, the watch emits a ‘natural frequency’ which somehow magically results in its users sleeping longer and waking up refreshed (no word on the science – if applicable – behind this gadget).
Up next is the Zeo headband – this works by recording your brainwaves so you can assess how well (or badly) you slept the night before. We’re guessing you already know your quality of sleep is lousy – so we’re not sure it’s worth you running out to the stores for this product. That being said, for the data freaks out there, this could be of interest.
The third product is a contoured sleep mask that has room for your eyebrows (to be honest, we don’t often hear from people who suspect their insomnia is due to eyebrow discomfort).
We’re stuck with the impression that most insomnia related products are merely gimmicks – these products do very little to change our mind. Then again, perhaps we’re just cynics.
What’s the best/most amusing/most offensive product you’ve seen touted as an insomnia cure?

Not so much a gadget but a CD: http://www.brainwave-entrainment.com/BMV_Series_24_Sacred_Healing_Frequencies_CD_Solfeggio_Healing_Tones_Vibrational_Sound_Therapy.htm
It’s reasonably relaxing but because of the crashing waves on the soundtrack, I kept feeling like I had to head to the bathroom
i have a pressure point wrist gadget which has been useful and effective but i have forgotten where the wrist points are. can someone remind me please?
Not sure about the specific product you’re referring to, sweetman. You might want to read our post about acupressure as an insomnia cure.
That post mentions the HT7 points of the wrist: http://www.chiro.org/ACAPress/GRAPHICS/Fig_3_13.gif
