Now a soda can cure insomnia!

18 November 2009 in insomnia cures

We recently came across a website selling a soda that contains ingredients thought to counteract insomnia.

Funnily enough, although a lot of external websites are mentioning the product’s ability to relieve insomnia, there’s no mention of that on their website. Still, it sounds like something that could be fun (and pricey) to try out.

This got us thinking. Maybe we can give away ‘alternative insomnia cures’ like this when our community launches. Maybe we can have an expert panel of reviewers. Who knows, we might just stumble upon something amazing. Probably not, but we’d have fun trying!

By the way, we haven’t been paid to mention this product. We aren’t big enough and we probably aren’t smart enough. Yet.

Mary Jane’s soda website (now there’s a tea, too) is quite flaky right now. None of the pages I tried loaded properly the first time, and some of the lins were simply broken. Too bad–I wanted some information about the products.

I was in BevMo, and stumbled across Mary Jane’s Relaxing Soda: don’t recall the price.
5mg sodium, but 39g sugars!
Ingredients: Water, cane sugar, Passionflower extract, Caramel color, Kava extract, Phosporic acid, Citric Acid, Natural Flavor. So, usually extracts are alcohol based–not sure about these particular extracts. One finds phosporic acid in most colas.

There is statement about only having two (12 oz) bottles a day.

I haven’t opened it yet. In the same trip, I bought Fentiman’s Victorian Lemonade, which had some fermented ginger in it, and some herb whose name escapes me right now, but I only managed a few sips before I put it aside–just tasted wrong. I’ve had lemon/ginger combos before that were just fine, and Fentiman’s Ginger Ale is pleasant.
