We’ve mentioned a link between insomnia and restless leg syndrome before. If restless leg syndrome is keeping you up at night, Dr Dudley J Morton may be able to help.
Dr Morton found that hypermobility (double jointedness) of the first metatarsal bone in the foot may be a cause of restless leg syndrome. Treating this could be as simple as placing a toe pad under the first toe.
If restless leg syndrome is the cause of your insomnia and you’re looking to relieve your symptoms without the use of medication, this could be worth investigating further.

My podiatrist hasn’t mentioned this, but I will call the office in the daytime and ask his opinion/experience with clients.
If it’s that easy to treat, it’d be wonderful. Otherwise, I’ll see about consulting a neurologist.
