Satisfying your evening sugar cravings may cause insomnia

31 August 2010 in insomnia cures

What you eat probably affects how you sleep at night. Just eating late at night may cause insomnia. Now we’re told that although you should still avoid eating shortly before bedtime, if you have to eat, you should definitely avoid refined grains and sugars.

Apparently, eating these foods will cause a ‘hormone rollercoaster’ which may disrupt sleep cycles. This makes sense, particularly as we’ve written before about the link between blood sugar levels and insomnia.

We’d be interested to know whether you recognize a link between light night eating and your insomnia. Our comments form is below, as usual.
