The creative insomniac

by Martin Reed on 11 July 2011 in insomnia information

We see a definite link between creative minds and insomnia so today we wanted to share the creative talents of one of our members who wrote a poem about insomnia and drew a couple of insomnia-themed comics.

If you like what you see below, we strongly recommend you check out Uly’s blog for more comics and fantastic illustrations. She certainly has a lot of talent.

An untitled poem about insomnia

Sleep, the little slices of death
The gales of my mind die and pale.
Redundant tunes in my ears grow silent
Prickles race down my limbs in urgency
To live and to animate restless muscles
To keep the slice of death at bay.
Eyes flutter, pupils widen and gape
Into the blackness beyond the window
Searching for intangible, unfathomed things
Exploring for the sake of exploring itself
Determined to remain vigilant for no one
Frenetic to see me succeed, to not succumb.
