A morbid headline, but one we felt was worth using. We’ve mentioned before just how dangerous insomnia can be. Now, new research from the University of Warwick has come to some startling conclusions.
Apparently, those who sleep less than 6 hours per night are 12% more likely to die prematurely than those who get 6 to 8 hours. This wasn’t a small study, either. More than 1.3 million participants were followed for up to 25 years.
We need to stop ignoring insomnia. It’s a serious issue for millions of people. It can destroy lives. There needs to be more research, more understanding and more support for insomnia sufferers.

Let’s see…I’m now 54 with hundreds of nights of fewer than six hours of sleep. Subtract x number of years for all of those nights…looks like my time is almost up.
More seriously, you’re absolutely right, insomnia does destroy lives and it never looks back.
Love the way you approach this with a sense of humor, Mike!
