Apparently, insomnia is a symptom - not a sleep disorder itself, but a symptom of a sleep disorder. Well, one symptom of this symptom is forgetfulness. Now, thanks to the heroic mice that 'volunteer' for medical studies a drug has been found that can counteract this memory loss.
The most interesting part of the article for us was the final couple of paragraphs:
We are always going to need drugs for people with serious disorders, but we don't want to end up medicalising lifestyles. We need to go back to basics and think about the way we as a society lead our lives, and the impact this has on our sleep, rather than looking for a cure.
