Is there a link between blood sugar levels and insomnia?

We've written before about how food may influence your insomnia, and now we've found another potential connection between your diet and how well you're sleeping.

As reported by ABC15 News, Dr. Michael Murray suggests that you regulate your blood sugar levels throughout the day:

Individuals whose blood sugar levels change rapidly throughout the day due to their weight or eating habits may experience a drop in blood sugar about 3 a.m. This causes the production of adrenalin which wakes them up.

Dr. Murray then goes on to explain his '7 keys of weight loss'.

There are a myriad of diet regimes out there - and you won't find us endorsing any of them. We are proponents of healthy, balanced diets - and it's impossible to ignore the increasing evidence that a healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle can relieve insomnia and improve your sleep.
