A new report from the British Association for Psychopharmacology has found that talking therapy such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy works just as well as prescription drugs when it comes to treating insomnia.
The report goes on to say that talking therapy should be the first treatment doctors recommend and that it is likely to have longer lasting effects than drug treatment.
It's a shame therefore, that talking treatments are not always available or accessible to those who would benefit the most.
If you're on sleeping pills and haven't given CBT or other talking therapies a try, maybe you should speak with your doctor or a registered sleep center.
