According to researchers at JFK Medical Center, Edison, teenagers send at least 34 texts each night over the course of about four hours after going to bed. Furthermore, teenagers often consider losing their phone more important than losing an organ.
The same study found that while girls prefer to text, boys tend to play online games and use the internet instead.
Sleep is important for all of us, but it's particularly important for children and teenagers. Perhaps it would be a good idea for us to ban electronics from their bedrooms at night and see how this affects their sleep.
