Exercise such as yoga can relieve insomnia. Now a new study has found that aerobic exercise helps relieve insomnia and improve mood in middle-aged and older adults.
The study was undertaken by Northwestern Medicine. The findings are particularly important as around half the population that fits this demographic report chronic insomnia symptoms.
So... maybe it's time to finally make use of that leotard that's been sitting in the basement for the past 20-odd years?

I notice it doesn’t say anything about time of day when the exercise occurred. It also doesn’t say (again) whether the study population were insomniacs or not.
When I was an insomniac in college, I rode my bike every day (too lazy to walk, and I was always rushed, anyway), I worked on dance routines at least weekly, I had other exercise, and I noticed no trend in whether I slept or not, even if my muscles were achy or I was just exhausted.
I could be absolutely exhausted and still not fall asleep within an hour.
