Perhaps unsurprisingly, insomnia is even more common amongst those who check into hotels (probably due to traveling, crossing timezones and unfamiliar surroundings).
So, how do you address hotel insomnia? Well, a USA Today poll asked this question to those who have trouble sleeping when they check into hotels.
Their survey found that two thirds turn on the TV (even though some suggest TV makes sleep more difficult). A fifth read a book or magazine, 10% take sleeping pills, 4% work and 1% practice yoga or meditation.
Our advice? Well let's just say we wish that the two thirds of people who turned on the TV gave yoga or meditation a try instead.
Of course, one alternative is to check into a hotel that provides you with your own sleep expert - The Milestone Hotel in London will happily offer you this in exchange for $1,000 per night!
