The brain is often to blame for insomnia - but one chiropractor thinks we're missing the big picture.
Dr Wagner argues that insomnia is often down to a stressed or misaligned spine.
Apparently, even minor misalignments such as those caused by working at a computer all day can affect the nervous system. This, in turn, keeps the body stuck in a 'stress mode' which making sleep difficult.
Wagner recommends a technique called Torque Release - this helps the spine correct itself without the cracking or popping typically associated with chiropractic techniques.
I'm doubtful that the spine is more to blame than the brain when it comes to poor sleep, but it's always worth investigating every option.
